age 87, of Mt. Olive passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012. She was born in New Merkel (Cahaba Heights), Alabama, the daughter of the late O.H. and Maude Handley Gillespie. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Cecil C. Bullock; two sisters, Hilda Walker Smith and Dorothy Gillespie Woods, and one brother, Cylvin Gillespie. She is survived by two sons, C. Calvin Bullock (Pat) and Dennis R. Bullock (Karen); five grandchildren, Alicia Jackson (Brad), Ashley Hullet (Bill), Joey Fine (Tammy), Jenifer Fine and Jason Fine; six great-grandchildren, Kasey and Savannah Hullett, Sawyer Jackson, Braden and Carter Fine, and Rylan Fine; a brother-in-law, Tommy Bullock; and a sister-in-law, Florance Bullock. She is also survived by her lifelong friends, Don and Mary Jane Sanders and Mrs. Ester Moman. She was an active member of Cahaba Heights Baptist Church until moving to the Mt. Olive area. She then became a member of Calcedonia Baptist Church where she served the Lord for years a as a Sunday School teacher and choir member. She cherished her family, her friends, and her church. She was avery giving person to those in need and she lived a truly Christian life. A visitation will be held Friday, June 20, 2012 at Gardendale Funeral Home from 5-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 21 at Gardendale Funeral Home at 1 PM, with burial to follow at Cahaba Heights Baptist Church Cemetery, Brother Danny Miller officiating.
